The Professional Sales Rep's Creed
To respect my profession, my company, and
myself.
To be honest in all of my dealings with my company,
as I expect my company to be honest and fair with me; to think of it
with loyalty, speak of it with praise, and act always as a
trustworthy custodian of its good name. To be an individual whose
word is believed and respected
To base my expectations of reward on a solid foundation of
contributions made.
To be willing to pay the price of
success in honest, intelligent effort. To look upon my job as an
opportunity to display enthusiasm and optimism.
To remember sales success lies within myself, in my own mind,
my own energy.
To expect difficulties and work my way
through them; to turn hard experience into capital for future
struggles.
To believe in what I'm selling.
To sell ethically; to
kill doubts with strong convictions and reduce any friction with an
agreeable personality.
To make a study of my business or line.
To know my
profession in every detail from the ground up; to mix brains with my
efforts and use systems and methods in my work. To find time to do
everything needed by never letting time find me doing nothing.
To keep my future unmortgaged by debt.
To save money
as well as earn it; to eliminate spending habits; to steer clear of
dissipation and guard my high energy level as my competitive edge.
To take a good grip on the joy of life.
To fight
against nothing so hard as my own weaknesses, and to endeavor to
grow professionally and personally with the passage of every selling
day.
Finally, to be fully committed to achieve excellence in
sales.
These are some precepts I recently read to teach
and remind me that my greatest satisfactions will revolve around the
level of excellence I achieve in my sales job. This is my creed.
Good luck!
