What are some of the best ways to maintain a positive
attitude in sales?
(Part 2)
OK, quick review from
last week - positive affirmations plus positive actions equals
positive results. Did you write out your 10 positive affirmations?
Positive results makes selling more enjoyable - and profitable,
which leads to more positive results. Yes, I'm positive of that! And
so are you. So why is it so difficult to stay positive? Because we
let our setbacks get the best of us. We all do - even top producers.
I recently read General Colin Powell's philosophies on
positive thinking. These are some of his guidelines for helping him
keep his thinking "correct".
- It can be done! Make this your motto.
- Use perpetual optimism as a force multiplier.
- Be careful what you choose. You may get it.
- Don't let adverse facts stand in the way of a good decision.
- Check out the small things.
- Don't take counsel of your fears. Remain calm.
- Share credit.
- Avoid having your ego so close to your position that when your
position falls, your ego goes with it.
- Sometimes being responsible means people will be mad at you.
- It ain't as bad as you think. It will look better in the
morning.
What do you do to keep your thinking "correct"? The more
practice, repetition, and reminders we have at positive thinking,
the more likely it will become a habit. And not a bad habit at that!
Apply this to sales, management, health, fitness - pretty much
everything and enjoy more positive results!
